Happy Holidays from Douglas David
Please accept our warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season. Trish and I want to say thank you so much for a wonderful year. ..
We realize how blessed we are to have your support and loyalty when it is easy to cut us from the budget. Our staff is grateful and committed to you as well. We promise to continue to be the best we can be, to offer the finest service, products and continually search for new and better ways to serve you, our loyal customers and friends. It is an honor to have such a wonderful business in a great city and I will continue to do my best to serve you.
We’ve had a lot going on these past twelve months and are excited to see what 2010 will bring us! The most exciting news is that our salon was invited to be a part of Intercoiffure, an international organization composed of the top 1% of all salon owners in the world who are considered “the best of the best” and who meet ethical, portfolio, overall success and training standards. We were formally inducted as an elite member at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York in October.
We have a new and tiny addition to our salon and several more on their way! Last February Janet gave birth to sweet little Ava and it’s hard to believe she’s almost a year old now! Heather are Edward are expecting their first baby in February, a little girl named Teagan, Meghan is expecting her third baby in March, another little girl named Irelynn and also due in March and Lindsay is expecting her first baby, a boy she is naming Becker!
Speaking of life-changing events, Tabitha got married this past October at a fairy-tale ceremony in Williamsburg, VA where she is now living, but luckily she travels back to Raleigh every Tuesday and Wednesday to work her magic on her clients. Kara also got married Labor Day weekend to a home-town boy from her home town in Pennsylvania. They are very much in love!
And we’ll all miss Molly, who retired after being here for 20 years in the beginning of this year to go back to school for English and to spend time with her grandchildren. But we did gain 16 new employees throughout the year: we added 3 Receptionists- Heather, Kimberly and Jessica; 2 Make-up Artists/Boutique Divas- Thuy and Jacquie; 3 Assistants- Anne, Brittany and Bren, 1 Masseuse- Maria, 1 Nail Technician- Carmine, 1 Esthetician- Cigdem and 5 new Master Stylists- Edward, William, Sue, Kristy and Joemary.
We can’t forget about poor Sonja and her broken ankle last January during the first snow of the year. She slipped on her way into work, who knew doing hair could be such a hazardous occupation? Thankfully she is all healed and back in action again!
Can anyone say Viva Las Vegas? Doug attended the Global Trend Color Show in Las Vegas this fall for the 2010 trend release where stylists from 27 countries compete against each other where they are judged on cut, color and total look. The winners then collaborate to create the 2011 trend release.
November was a big month for us this year, in the beginning of November, Goldwell invited the entire salon to a 2 day advanced cut and color workshop in Baltimore, Maryland where our stylists learned some amazing new techniques as well as having a blast hanging out in “The City that Reads!” In mid-November we had our annual photo shoot showcasing our 2009 collection that will be released to all major national and international hair publications where lots of our work has been seen before. And to close out the month, we styled 40 models and 20 actors for the Avanti talent agency that was hosting their semi-annual showcase to an audience of 400 that included talent scouts and agents from all over the country.
To close out this year and start next year off we have introduced our very own Douglas Carroll Argan Collection that includes an Argan Shine Oil, a Curl Cream and a Style Cream that have healing and conditioning agents that make your hair smooth, shiny and manageable.
We also have launched The Douglas Carroll Rewards Program and are giving away a cruise to one lucky customer for 8 days and 7 nights from Athens to Barcelona, stopping off in Sorrento, Rome, Florence, Monte Carlo and St. Tropez May 21st-May 28th 2010 with your own personal butler included and you’re invited! Points are accumulated by pre-booking appointments, purchasing products, services and gift certificates but the way to get the most points is to refer your friends and family to us! Good luck and we hope you’ll be joining us on an amazing cruise!
Thank you and God bless you and your families.
